Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) refers to the technique that can be used to help a victim who has stopped breathing or is not breathing properly or a victim whose heart has stopped pumping. CPR involves a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths to manually keep blood and oxygen circulating through the victim’s body. The term ‘resuscitation’ describes the processes that are taken to reverse physiological deterioration in an acutely ill patient. It is a legal requirement that all nursing, medical and other health and social care staff are appropriately trained to provide adequate cardiopulmonary resuscitation to their patients under their care. CPR training is commonly referred to as basic life support (BLS).

We provide an online cardiopulmonary resuscitation course. The online CPR training course covers the theoretical aspects of resuscitation as well as the Resuscitation Council (UK) cardiopulmonary resuscitation training guidelines and algorithms. Some people find it convenient to take the e-learning resuscitation course online to enable them to go through all the learning aspects in their own time. Additionally, you will get an accredited CPD certificate and be able to continue to access the elearning CPR course for a year following completion (thus an invaluable resource to refer to throughout the year).

Although the online resuscitation courses provides essential information for lay and clinically trained people alike, it is recommended that all health and social care professionals should also undertake face to face resuscitation training courses to gain or demonstrate the practical skills that are required to provide safe and effective care.
